Thinking about contact lenses—or ready to get back into them? At Michigan Eye Consultants, we fit contacts with the same thing we bring to everything: time, precision, and a focus on long-term eye health.
Because a good contact lens fit isn’t just “what can you see.” It’s what feels comfortable, stays healthy, and works in real life—at the computer, at the gym, driving at night, and on long days.
Ready to schedule?
Contacts can be a great option if you want:
Freedom from glasses for work, workouts, or events
A backup to your everyday glasses
Options for astigmatism or age-related near vision changes (40+)
A more comfortable solution if past lenses didn’t feel right
1) We start with a comprehensive eye exam
Before we fit contacts, we make sure your eyes are healthy and your prescription is accurate. We’ll talk through your vision needs, screen time, dryness, and what you want your lenses to do for you.
2) Measurements that matter
A proper fit requires precision. We evaluate your eye surface and take detailed measurements to select lenses that match your eyes—not guesswork.
4) Trial lenses + fit check
You’ll try on lenses selected for your eyes and prescription. We assess:
How the lens sits and moves
Comfort and stability
Vision clarity (distance/near, as needed)
5) Training for first-time wearers
If you’re new to contacts, we’ll walk you through insertion, removal, cleaning, and safe wear habits—no rushing, no awkward “figure it out at home.”
6) Follow-up to confirm you love them
Many fits include a short follow-up after you’ve worn the lenses in the real world. If anything feels “off,” we adjust the plan.
We’ll recommend the best option based on your eyes, lifestyle, and comfort goals. Options may include:
Daily disposables (clean and convenient)
Two-week or monthly lenses
Toric lenses for astigmatism
Multifocal options for 40+ (or other strategies if needed)
If you’re interested in cosmetic/color lenses, we can discuss safe, prescription-based options as appropriate.
Contacts are medical devices. We’ll help you avoid the common problems we see when people:
Sleep in lenses that aren’t approved for it
Stretch replacement schedules
Overwear lenses on dry eye days
Our goal is not just “you can wear contacts.” You can wear them safely and comfortably.
Whether you’re brand new to contacts or you’ve worn them for years, we’ll help you find a fit that feels natural, performs well, and supports healthy eyes.
